CRS and EU roll out nationwide disability education caravan in Gambia

Catholic Relief Services began a nationwide advocacy campaign with European Union financial support. The 30-month program emphasizes education, technology, and recreational opportunities for children facing disabilities. Awareness campaigns address disability rights while working to eliminate social stigma. Inclusive learning environments become priorities through community education efforts. Educational enrollment and retention rates for students with disabilities drive program goals.

Project Manager Saidina Alieu Jarjou highlighted ongoing educational access challenges for disabled children. Lower River Region Governor Seddy Lamin Bah praised the collaborative approach between international donors and local organizations. Government officials promised continued support for creating supportive learning spaces. Regional authorities allocated resources to accommodate students with diverse learning needs. Educational infrastructure improvements will benefit students with disabilities.
