Cuba and Tanzania flex old school link

The Cuban ambassador to Tanzania has doubled down on keeping the diplomatic vibes strong between both countries while honoring the memory of Fidel Castro nine years after his passing. Yordens Vera rolled up to Coast Region with embassy staff to link with Regional Commissioner Abubakar Kunenge, explaining that the location was locked in because Castro himself hit up the area back in 1977, and Cuba built Ruvu and Kibiti secondary schools there.

Vera stated that his government is ready to cook up more partnerships spanning healthcare, biotech, travel industry, and farming sectors that would benefit Tanzanian people. Kunenge fired back by highlighting the Coast Region's economic glow up under President Samia Suluhu Hassan, pointing to infrastructure moves and 29 investment sites that are open for business. The regional leader also pitched the area's tourism potential with attractions like Whale Sharks at Mafia Island and Saadani National Park sitting right next to the Indian Ocean coastline.
