DA files charges over MK Party Russia scheme, Zuma family feud flares

The Democratic Alliance dropped criminal charges against MK Party MP Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla after supposedly 17 dudes got tricked into heading to Russia, thinking they were getting bodyguard training but ended up stuck fighting on the front lines in Ukraine. Chris Hattingh and Ryan Smith from the DA filed the complaint at Cape Town Central station while the Hawks launched their own probe into whether anyone broke laws against mercenary work. The guys claimed they paid for what seemed like legit security courses and got handed contracts in Russian that basically signed them up for military duty without their passports.

Her siblings turned on her and filed their separate complaints, accusing Duduzile of running the scheme, which has the whole Zuma family drama spilling out publicly. The MK Party fired back, calling it a political hit job meant to trash the family, while Duduzile denies orchestrating anything shady. South African law bans citizens from jumping into foreign conflicts without government approval, and the DA wants her benched from parliament until investigators finish sorting through the mess.
