A 20-year-old Guard member from West Virginia got killed after some guy opened fire near the White House while she was working security over the holidays. Sarah Beckstrom had apparently volunteered to cover the shift so other soldiers with kids could spend time at home, and she ended up taking fatal shots close to the Farragut West Metro Station. Another Guardsman who got hit is still fighting for their life in the hospital.
