A financial filing reveals Dambuster Studios is targeting early 2028 for Dead Island 3. The Nottingham-based developer has nearly two hundred staff fully assigned to the project following their work on Dead Island 2's ultimate edition.
This planned release comes less than five years after the last game's launch. The previous entry suffered a famously troubled development, bouncing between three different studios before Dambuster delivered a well-received final product.
Their success with Dead Island 2 secured them the next sequel. The new game is currently in early production, with design work on features and story moving quickly.
