Delta Police rescue Rebecca Mathew from abductor Bila Halili in Nagogo

Police officers under Divisional Police Officer Obekpa Michael successfully freed kidnapping victim Rebecca Mathew from her captor in Nagogo community. Authorities apprehended thirty-year-old Bila Halili following an intelligence-driven operation. The rescue team worked with local vigilante members to locate the victim. Officers discovered Mathew had been under hypnosis during her captivity. The suspect had lured her from her family residence and destroyed her mobile phone to prevent contact.

Mathew comes from Bodinga Community in Washegu Local Government Area of Niger State. Halili originates from the Kosso community in Sokoto State and remains in police custody. The victim's mother, Esther Moses, had reported her daughter missing since September 2, 2025, to the Niger State Police. Delta State Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe released details of the successful operation to media representatives. Authorities continue their investigation into the case.
