The police took three women away in Kampala city because they wanted Mr. Kizza Besigye to be free. One of these women, Mrs. Doreen Nyanjura, helps run the city. The other two were Mrs. Faridah Nangozi and Mrs. Ingrid Turinawe.
People saw many police officers grab the women near a place called Arua Park. The women tried to tell others to fight against unfair things. The police pushed them into their car when people started coming to watch. They drove them to the main police building.
The streets of Kampala had lots of police that day. They carried big guns and watched everyone very carefully. The police blocked people from going to the PFF office at Katonga. They made the motorcycle riders and people keep moving in many busy places like Mulago Roundabout and the city center.
Mr. Kituuma Rusoke, who works for the police, said they needed many officers because they heard some people wanted to make trouble. Before the police caught them, Mrs. Turinawe and Mrs. Nyanjura asked everyone in Uganda to help free Mr. Besigye and other prisoners. They wrote on the internet, asking people to use anything they could to help make Uganda free.
