Dhaka Metro coach shrugs as Mahmudullah's knee fails

Dhaka Metro will compete in the National Cricket League T20 without veteran Mahmudullah after knee problems forced him to withdraw from the tournament. Coach Nazmul Hossain announced Tuesday the 39-year-old batsman requires recovery time before resuming play. Young players like Aich Mollah will assume expanded roles during middle overs in his absence.

Mahmudullah scored an unbeaten 41 runs from 22 balls against Chattogram Division before the injury ended his domestic campaign. The innings featured two boundaries and two sixes in an early tournament match. Nazmul said the situation creates opportunities for emerging talent to demonstrate their abilities and accept greater responsibility.
