Metro rail operators will extend evening passenger services beyond 10pm following the completion of a two-week trial period. Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited announces that morning departures will start thirty minutes earlier, while final services will end thirty minutes later at 10:45pm. Train frequency improvements will reduce waiting times from six minutes to 4.15 minutes during peak periods. Off-peak service intervals will also decrease by two minutes under the new timetable. Managing Director Faruque Ahmed states these changes maximize existing system capacity.
Previous workforce limitations prevented earlier schedule expansions, according to company officials. The updated timetable takes effect immediately with increased operational capabilities. Motijheel station will dispatch the first train at 7am instead of the previous 7:30am departure time. Evening services will end when the final train departs from Motijheel at 10:10 pm and arrives at Uttara Uttar station by 10:45pm. Friday operations will begin at 2:30pm instead of the former 3pm start time.
