Egodini gets another lifeline, council and Terracotta spar

Bulawayo City Council just extended the deadline for the Egodini Redevelopment Project after developer Terracotta Trading finally handed over funding proof, a performance bond, updated project plans, and a work schedule that the local authority had been demanding. The contractor avoided getting fired by submitting everything, and council management felt good enough about the responses to keep things going under a revised consortium structure. They pushed the termination notice out to give Terracotta more time to handle what they still owe.

Meanwhile, council management wanted elected officials to undo a previous decision that let them meet directly with Terracotta and extend the contract, saying town clerk Christopher Dube should handle all that stuff administratively. Some councillors like Mmeli Thobeka Moyo and Royini Sekete pushed back hard, arguing they need oversight on a stalled project that affects residents. Council ended up rescinding those earlier resolutions anyway and scheduled another meeting with Terracotta for later.
