President William Ruto picked retired Lieutenant General Adan Mulata to lead the National Youth Service board. Mulata founded Peace Prospect Institute-Africa and will serve three years as the non-executive chairperson. The appointment appeared in official government notices dated May 23, 2025. His organization works on policy research and helps solve conflicts across Africa. Mulata takes over from Lieutenant General Njuki Mwaniki, who previously held the position.
Ruto also removed Joseph Kimani Machiri from the State Corporations Advisory Committee. John Karondo will take his place on the committee for three years. Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen appointed Meldah Adung a drug control analyst. Defense Secretary Soipan Tuya named Simon Mwacha to join the Kenya Shipyards Limited board. Agriculture Secretary Mutahi Kagwe made several appointments to different agricultural organizations.
Kagwe appointed four new members to the Agricultural Finance Corporation board. Kenneth Ndung'u Mburu, Joshua Koskei, Joyce Kioko, and Bernard Wakhungu will serve three-year terms. The agriculture secretary also named new board members at Nyayo Tea zones and the Pyrethrum processing company. Education Secretary Julius Ogamba appointed Adan Hassan to the North Eastern National Polytechnic council. Energy Secretary Opiyo Wandayi selected Christopher Odhiambo Karani for the Kenya Pipeline Company board.
