Ex Intel Boss Spills Secrets Faces Court

Lawyer Victor Adawudu believes former National Signals Bureau leader Kwabena Adu-Boahene broke his secrecy promise when he talked about his work publicly. Adawudu said Saturday that government workers promise not to share job information unless the law allows it. People who break this promise can face legal trouble. Adu-Boahene wrote a letter on May 6 claiming money he spent went to security work rather than his pocket. The Attorney General had accused him of stealing these funds.

Adawudu wondered if anyone approved this spending through official channels. He explained that money for security needs approval from several groups, like the National Security Council. Parliament must also agree to security budgets before money is spent. Adawudu talked about claims that Adu-Boahene paid political enemies. He said security agencies usually collect information from other parties rather than give them cash.
