Parry Osayande, a former Deputy Inspector General of Police, passed away on Sunday in Benin City, Edo State, just hours before celebrating his 89th birthday. The Immaculate Conception College Old Boys' Association President Ighodalo Edetanlen confirmed the death through an official statement. Osayande was born on Sept. 29, 1936, and built a remarkable law enforcement career spanning decades.
The veteran officer served as Commissioner of Police in both Benue and Cross River states before advancing to Deputy Inspector General rank. Following his police service, Osayande assumed leadership of the Police Service Commission, where he contributed significantly to institutional reforms and disciplinary procedures.
