Exoborne Hands On Delivers Weather Fueled Carnage

Sharkmob creates Exoborne as a tactical extraction shooter where players fight other teams and dangerous weather. The game takes place inside Colton County during apocalyptic storms that tear apart the United States. Players wear powered suits called Exorigs that help them move around maps using grappling hooks and special abilities. Three different suit types will launch with the game next year on PC first and consoles later. Each suit offers unique combat abilities and movement options for different play styles.

Teams drop into maps and complete missions before extracting through special ships. Weather changes affect which extraction points stay active during matches. Players lose weapons and gear when they die but keep their powered suits and cosmetic items. The rebirth trace timer marks players on the map if they stay inside matches for extended periods. Teams can work together or fight each other for extraction ships.

Martin Holberg from Sharkmob explains that feedback from beta tests changed many game systems. The studio learned from their previous battle royale game about vertical movement and player engagement. Exoborne limits quick escapes compared to earlier games and forces players to commit more during fights. The developers plan battle passes and customization options for characters and suits.
