FBI finally fires agents who cared about Floyd

Federal agents lost their jobs after participating in demonstrations during nationwide protests over George Floyd's death in 2020. The Associated Press reported that the FBI terminated multiple employees who knelt alongside protesters during the racial justice movement. The agency initially transferred these workers to different positions before deciding on dismissal years later.

Sources indicate approximately 20 agents faced termination, though the Bureau declined to verify these numbers publicly. Officials justified the dismissals by citing requirements for professional neutrality within federal law enforcement. However, advocacy groups criticized the punitive measures against agents who engaged in what they described as peaceful symbolic expression during a significant national moment.
