FIDA-Kenya baying for Brit suspect in Nanyuki, Agnes Wanjiru

The Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya demands swift extradition of a British citizen connected to Agnes Wanjiru's death. A High Court judge approved an arrest warrant for the suspect linked to the 2012 Nanyuki killing. FIDA-Kenya believes prosecuting this individual will demonstrate that attacks on women face consequences. The organization praised the Director of Public Prosecutions for obtaining the legal order. Officials stress that justice must prevail after thirteen years of family suffering.

Wanjiru disappeared on March 31, 2012, following contact with British military personnel in Nanyuki. Searchers discovered her remains inside a septic tank on June 5, 2012. Medical examination revealed stab wounds and beating injuries that preceded her death. The 21-year-old victim likely remained conscious when thrown into the tank. FIDA-Kenya participated in parliamentary hearings about British Army Training Unit activities and continues supporting the victim's relatives while advocating for women's safety.
