Fiery Vans RV-14 crash devastates Lowell storage facility

A Vans RV-14 aircraft struck storage units Monday evening near Grand Rapids, Michigan, causing multiple fires. The Kent County Sheriff's Office responded to the incident at Vergennes Street NE and Lincoln Lake Avenue NE around 5:20 p.m. Emergency crews battled flames that engulfed several storage facilities after the aircraft impact. The crash site sits one block away from Lowell City Airport. Federal Aviation Administration officials confirmed the aircraft type but have not determined how many people were aboard the plane.
