Filabusi mine collapse leaves three trapped as rescue drags on

A mining collapse in Filabusi just swallowed three people alive in a brutal accident. Two workers were buried deep inside Hebenia Mine when its shaft gave way. One victim’s spouse rushed toward the failing structure and also became trapped under the earth.

Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident, noting the extreme depth of roughly eleven meters, complicating rescue efforts. Teams worked extensively to reach the trapped individuals as shocked locals watched the desperate operation unfold. The community gathered near the site, holding out hope for a miracle recovery.
