Coronavirus and flu continue to affect St. Petersburg despite the recent warm weather. Official numbers show infections decreased during the previous week. Between April 7 and 13, health officials recorded 34,734 cases of respiratory infections, flu, and COVID-19 in the city. The Leningrad Region saw 11,176 cases during this same period.
Flu and respiratory infections fell 12.3% compared to earlier weeks, according to the regional Rospotrebnadzor office. COVID cases specifically decreased by 8.2%. Children ages three to six remain the most vulnerable group for respiratory illnesses across both St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region.
