Forma Labs Audio just shipped a plugin that turns one keyboard into a whole orchestra. Filament hit its full release, and it runs as a real-time MIDI orchestration tool aimed at composers and producers who want heavy routing muscle.
The instrument hosts up to 64 VST or AU instruments inside itself. It splits, revoices, and shuffles MIDI on the fly across 12 keyswitches, and each one carries 8 voice layers.
There's a bunch packed in here. You get intelligent chord revoicing, a routing matrix that fires voices off to different instruments, and a per-row arpeggiator with per-step articulations.
Every row also grabs a MIDI clip launcher with piano roll editing, plus a CC modifier sporting 128-point curve editing. A MIDI Out lets producers keep tweaking the orchestrated material downstream, and a built-in mixer with macro controls rounds it out.
On pricing, Filament opens at a knocked-down £99 for a two-week stretch, after which the tag climbs to an RRP of £149.
