French DJ Martin Solveig ends career at Vielles Charrues festival

Martin Solveig concluded his DJ career during a performance at the Vielles Charrues festival in Carhaix, western France. The 48-year-old artist made his retirement announcement before 70,000 spectators who endured heavy rainfall to witness his final show on Saturday. Festival director Jerome Trehorel expressed surprise at Solveig's decision, which the musician had announced several weeks prior to the event. Trehorel described hosting the farewell performance as an immense honor for the festival. The announcement marked the end of a career that had surprised organizers with its timing.

Solveig achieved global recognition through hits such as "All Stars" and "Hello" during his two-decade career. The French musician helped establish the "French touch" electronic music movement alongside David Guetta and Bob Sinclar. His professional accomplishments extended beyond solo work to collaborations with artists of significant stature, including Madonna and others. Solveig released five albums throughout their career and performed at the 2024 Paralympic Games closing ceremony in Paris.
