GACC holds workshop to boost awareness of anti-corruption laws

A coalition focused on transparency has conducted a workshop in Tamale aimed at familiarizing residents with legislation governing Ghana's anti-corruption watchdog. The Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition partnered with the Centre for Communities Education and Youth Development to deliver training under a two-year program designed to clarify the mandate of the Office of the Special Prosecutor and encourage citizen involvement in exposing misconduct.

Solomon Yanka, monitoring officer for the coalition, said limited familiarity with anti-corruption frameworks hinders public engagement despite ongoing enforcement actions. The initiative promotes digital reporting mechanisms and cooperation among justice sector entities to improve accountability measures.

Abu Ibrahim, executive director of the partnering organization, indicated that reducing graft creates conditions necessary for equitable development. Fuseini Musah, representing the Sagnarigu Municipal Youth Parliament, is committed to educating peers about reporting channels following the session attended by civic leaders and community representatives.
