Hannah Senghore started a new group called the Eliza Senghore & Emil Prom Foundation. The group wants to help young people in The Gambia by focusing on education and improving their lives.
Hannah grew up in a poor family in The Gambia, so she knows how hard it can be. She moved to the United States and got an education, which made her want to help others have the same chance.
The foundation believes all women and girls should be able to go to school. To promote this, it hosted a soccer game. At the game, it awarded ten scholarships and gave school supplies to 100 children from poor families.
"We do more than just help with school," Hannah said. "We also teach job skills and offer advice."
She said this work is very important. When young women get an education, it helps their whole family. Educated women often make sure their own kids are healthy and go to school.
