Three Gambian women helped their team win another trophy in Liberia. Ruggy Joof, Mbassey Darboe, and Catherine Jatta played for Determine Girls FC, which just won the league title for the fifth straight time. The champions beat Bushrod Queens 9-1 at Samuel Kenyon Doe Stadium during their victory celebration Saturday. According to reports from the Gambia Football Federation, their Gambian teammates made a huge difference throughout the entire season.
Captain Joof led a strong defense that only lost one match all season. She scored once herself and created five goals for teammates during their campaign.
