Gbande praises security work exposing hidden crimes

Mustapha Gbande, the Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, praised the current national security approach under the Mahama government. He believes the agency's recent operations are successfully exposing crimes that might have remained hidden.

During an interview on Accra-based JoyNews's 'Probe' program, Gbande highlighted the aggressive efforts to combat criminal activities. He emphasized that the public should recognize the national security team's work in uncovering and fighting against illegal actions.

The National Security Agency has conducted several operations targeting various security threats across different regions. In one notable incident, operatives discovered ECG equipment hidden at two separate locations in Kansawurodo, a suburb near Sekondi-Takoradi in the Western Region.

Another significant operation occurred at Sapeiman, where security officers intercepted ten 40-foot containers filled with counterfeit materials. The containers included fake gold bars and forged currency notes in both Ghana cedis and US dollars.

Gbande argued that these interventions are crucial for preventing the misappropriation of state resources. He suggested that without such proactive measures, many crimes would continue to go undetected and unaddressed.
