GCTU Empowers Graduates to Become Techpreneurs

Ghana Communication Technology University wants to help students become tech business founders, not just tech workers. During the 34th Matriculation Ceremony, Professor Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa promised students exciting programs relevant to current job markets. He stressed that graduates should start companies instead of only looking for jobs after school. The university plans to make students active participants rather than passive learners.

Professor Afoakwa told new students they would spend four years gaining skills to drive digital transformation. They will learn how to create tech innovations and build businesses from scratch. These young entrepreneurs can shape digital economies across Ghana and beyond. The university believes student-led businesses represent an important part of future economic growth.

According to the vice-chancellor, GCTU offers students amazing educational resources. Its modern labs feature cutting-edge equipment similar to what major companies use. Industry partnerships give students real job experience before graduation. The university focuses on problem-based learning methods, where students solve actual industry challenges.

The Vice-Chancellor explained his goal to make GCTU the best school in West Africa for developing tech talent. He wants the university to prepare students for what he calls the 5th Industrial Revolution. Students graduate ready to pioneer new technologies and establish successful tech companies. Professor Afoakwa believes these future leaders will transform Africa through technology-driven business innovation.
