GeForce NOW's RTX 5080 hardware can't fix its awful input lag

NVIDIA launched enhanced GeForce NOW cloud gaming servers featuring RTX 5080 graphics cards and AMD Zen 5 processors. Ultimate subscribers gain access to upgraded hardware across select cities in the United States, Germany, and France. The company activated new streaming capabilities that support resolutions up to 5K at 120 frames per second. Enhanced visual processing through Cinematic Quality Streaming reduces compression artifacts in demanding games. Twenty-three PC titles currently utilize the improved server infrastructure.

The service delivers frame rates reaching 360 frames per second at 1080p resolution for competitive gaming applications. Cinematic Quality Streaming provides superior image clarity but limits performance to 60 frames per second maximum. Custom streaming modes enable higher frame rates while reducing visual enhancement features. Network latency remains detectable despite hardware improvements and new packet pacing technology. The L4S protocol offers potential latency reductions but requires compatible internet service providers and networking equipment for effectiveness.
