Gen Muhoozi Slams SC Ruling Over Military Courts

Chief Says Court Ruling is Bad for Army.

The head of Uganda's army is not happy. His name is Gen Kainerugaba Muhoozi. He did not like what the Supreme Court said.

The court said the army cannot try people who are not in the army, which Muhoozi thinks is bad for the army.

Muhoozi said the army keeps the country safe. It helps make Uganda better. He said the army has done this for a long time.

Muhoozi did not say much more, but he said the army leaders would discuss it. His father, President Museveni, would be there.

Muhoozi said the court's choice could make the country less safe and make it harder for the army to do its job.

He asked Museveni to fix the problem fast. Muhoozi said the army would keep doing what it has always done, no matter what.

The army and the government are working to change the laws. They want the army to be able to try more people.

Muhoozi said these things at a big event. It was the 44th Tarehe Sita celebration, and many important people clapped for him.

The event was about freedom and making life better for everyone. Museveni was the main person there.

Muhoozi also said some people might try to make trouble before the 2026 elections. But he said the government is watching them. They will stop any bad plans.

Museveni said something like this last week. He said the people, not judges, run Uganda.

The Supreme Court said all trials of people who are not in the army must go to other courts. The government said it would follow the court's orders.

However, the government cannot make laws to change what the court has already decided. The Constitution says so.
