Ghana’s new UN envoy vows stronger ties, multilateral push

Ghana's new ambassador to the United Nations, Samuel Yao Kumah, submitted his credentials to Secretary General António Guterres at the headquarters in New York. The diplomat delivered messages from President John Dramani Mahama while emphasizing his nation's dedication to multilateral cooperation and UN Charter values.

Guterres praised Ghana as a reliable UN ally and democratic model in West Africa, commending its governance standards and regional leadership efforts. The Secretary General requested Kumah relay his regards to Mahama.

Kumah applauded Guterres for steering the organization through heightened geopolitical tensions and endorsed the UN80 Initiative aimed at strengthening institutional capacity for modern challenges.
