Gibbs White's future uncertain as Man City deal stalls

Morgan Gibbs White might leave Nottingham Forest but Manchester City backed away from buying him. The Daily Mail says City bosses refused to pay the £70 million price tag that Nottingham wanted for their star player. City decided to chase other targets like Ryan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders because they need players fast for the Club World Cup. The team needs to build their squad quickly and cannot wait around for expensive deals.

Gibbs White would love to join Manchester City and play with his good friend Phil Foden. The attacking midfielder remains interested in making the move happen if City changes their mind about negotiations. His current contract with Nottingham Forest runs until summer 2027 and pays him £60,000 each week. Forest has not offered him a new deal even though other top clubs want to sign him.

Liverpool and Tottenham are both watching Gibbs White closely and might make offers for the talented player. The 25-year-old has become one of the most wanted midfielders in English football after strong performances. City could still return to talks with Nottingham Forest if their other transfer targets fall through. Gibbs White faces an uncertain future as the transfer window continues and clubs make their final decisions.
