Man City Land Dutch Star Reijnders in £46m Coup

Manchester City struck a deal worth 55 million euros for AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. The Netherlands player will join City on a five-year contract after agreeing personal terms. The transfer fee equals about 46.3 million pounds and could rise with bonus payments. City wants Reijnders ready for the Club World Cup starting June 14. The 26-year-old must pass a medical exam before completing his move.

Injuries force City to seek midfield help ahead of the tournament. Mateo Kovacic cannot play after Achilles surgery ruled him out of the 32-team competition. Kevin de Bruyne might also miss the event as he considers joining Napoli. The Croatian midfielder's absence leaves City short of options during the summer tournament. Reijnders arrives at the perfect time to fill the gap.

The Dutch international earned 22 caps for his country and offers balance City lacked last season. He scored 15 goals across 54 matches for Milan and won Serie A's midfielder award. His strong performances came despite Milan finishing eighth and missing European competition. The former AZ Alkmaar player reached double-digit goals for the first time during his career. Pep Guardiola values his ability to play multiple midfield positions and handle pressure situations.
