Girl Guides Go Epic at Ongwediva Meetup

Girl Guides members met at Ongwediva on Saturday to mark World Thinking Day about Our Story. President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, a former guide, joined them and talked about what being a guide meant to her life. She said guides learn courage, teamwork, and helping others. The group has worked with girls for more than 100 years.

Nandi-Ndaitwah spoke about skills guides learn, like tying knots and singing camp songs. She believes groups like guides teach children important life lessons outside school. These activities help young people become caring citizens who take action. She thanked her family and teachers for letting her join the Guides as a child. The president told the young guides they can make Namibia better for everyone.
