Glenmorangie pours it on, Lagos whisky scene lit

That scotch brand Glenmorangie just did a whole thing in Lagos to cozy up to Nigerian whisky drinkers. They ran a multi-day event with masterclasses and fancy dinners. Their global team, including managers Kritika Sahni and Sean Oliver, teamed up with the local Moet Hennessy crew for store visits and training.

They held these train-the-trainer sessions at spots like the Radisson Blu in Ikeja and The Art Hotel in Victoria Island. Over a hundred fifty bartenders and trade people got schooled on the brand's history from Tain, Scotland, and did guided tastings. A rooftop dinner at the Moet Hennessy Penthouse in Ikoyi had celebrities like Dare Art Alade and Wale Ojo showing up. Chef Wu made a paired menu, mixologist Berg Baboyan created special cocktails, and there was an art exhibit by Alex Ash.

The events also included a tasting at Booze NG with some Big Brother Naija alumni. The whole push was clearly about locking down their spot in Nigeria's growing premium whisky scene by schmoozing both the trade and consumers.
