GMKtec teases 2nd gen AI mini PC with 180 TOPS

A 180-TOPS AI performance claim from a mini PC basically narrows the chip down to Intel's Panther Lake lineup.

GMKtec's next AI mini PC teased
  • GMKtec dropped a teaser on X for a second-gen desktop AI mini PC.
  • Specs are still under wraps, but 180 TOPS got confirmed.
  • Its chassis looks practically identical to the existing EVO T1.
Why Panther Lake is the obvious bet
  • Flagship Zen 5 mobile chips max out at 126 TOPS, falling way short.
  • Panther Lake is the sole platform cracking 180 in combined AI throughput.
  • Core Ultra X7 358H, X7 368H, and X9 388H all hit that ballpark.
  • Arc B390 iGPU alone kicks in around 122 TOPS of that total.
How the AI math breaks down
  • NPU5 contributes roughly 50 TOPS to the overall figure.
  • CPU-side processing tacks on about 9 more TOPS.
  • Everything combined lands right around 180 to 181 TOPS.
Current EVO T1 as a reference point
  • GMKtec's EVO T1 rocks a Core Ultra 9 285H at 99 combined TOPS.
  • RAM and storage configs on that model go up to 96 GB and 2 TB.
  • Similar memory and storage options will likely carry over.
Pricing and launch details are still missing
  • GMKtec hasn't shared any release date or pricing yet.
  • More details are supposedly dropping in the near future.
  • Multiple SKU configs could show up at launch.
