Golding assembles loser's cabinet in Jamaica

Opposition leader Mark Golding presented his Shadow Cabinet on Monday following the People's National Party's defeat in the September 3 election. The team will monitor government activities and propose policies supporting what the party calls a fair and modern Jamaica. Golding leads the PNP and said the group combines skilled lawmakers with fresh perspectives.

The spokespersons receive no government funding for their positions. Golding stated the arrangement costs taxpayers nothing while giving legislators a chance to address national concerns. The Shadow Cabinet operates through four areas covering economic growth, social programs, infrastructure, and administrative oversight.
