Gomoa East just got its first woman DCE

Margaret Naana Ackom has made history as the first female District Chief Executive for Gomoa East. Every assembly member voted to approve her nomination, giving her complete support from all 18 representatives. During her acceptance speech, she thanked everyone for their trust and promised to partner with assembly members, traditional authorities, and other stakeholders to develop the district.

She mentioned several problems that need fixing right away, such as poor school buildings, bad roads, limited clean drinking water, and not enough hospital facilities. Ackom expressed thanks to President Mahama for choosing her for this position, assured residents she would lead with everyone in mind focus on results. She previously worked as Deputy Director of Welfare for the National Democratic Congress party in the Central Region.

Her unanimous confirmation shows strong confidence in her leadership abilities from both elected officials and government appointees in the district. She plans to bring positive changes to communities throughout Gomoa East through teamwork and dedication. Many people see her appointment as an important step forward for women in local government leadership roles.
