Govt tells public servants show up or get in trouble

The Public Service Commission sent a clear message to government workers who might skip work during the planned shutdown. Civil servants must show up as normal despite calls from war veteran Blessed Geza asking people to stay home. Geza wants citizens to protest what he calls bad leadership from President Mnangagwa's government.

PSC officials believe their staff members understand their duties well enough to ignore these harmful calls. They reminded workers that serving Zimbabwe comes first, without any breaks. Their jobs help deliver essential services needed for national growth under Vision 2030. Anyone joining the stay-away will face charges of failing to follow orders.

The commission labeled such actions harmful to national unity. They stressed that April 22 and 23 remain regular working days for everyone. Managers must keep attendance records, which inspectors will collect from all government offices. PSC expects employees to work normally, showing their support for current leadership through professional behavior.
