Harare Goes Crazy for Russian Dance Show

Russian artists performed at the first Days of Russian Spiritual Culture held in Harare. TV BRICS served as the international media partner for these cultural events. Ambassador Nikolay Krasilnikov said the visit came from agreements made between both countries during 2024. The Russian and Zimbabwe culture ministers reached these deals at the St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum. The State Song and Dance Ensemble Altai traveled from Russia to showcase their homeland traditions.

The performers presented I Feel the Soul of Russia featuring sixteen vocal and dance pieces. Elena Berezikova leads the ensemble and said the tour created chances for cultural exchange between nations. Artists created a special African-style version of the Russian folk dance Barynya just for Zimbabwe audiences. They also taught a master class about traditional Russian dance and moral education. The group performed songs like Kalinka and Evenings Near Moscow for local crowds.

Two art displays accompanied the concert performances around the capital city. The Russian Geographical Society showed Multinational Russia and the Kizhi Museum presented their masterpiece collection. Artists later visited Marondera to meet with students at music schools. Local education director Theresa Covini praised the colorful costumes and beautiful melodies. The cultural program aims to strengthen friendship between Russia and African countries.
