Highlanders suffer 1-0 setback as training woes come to light

Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu blamed their recent loss against MWOS on inadequate training before the season began. His team fell short by one goal to the league newcomers during their first match last Sunday at Baobab Stadium in Ngezi. The home team scored through Tafadzwa George after 67 minutes of play.

Kaindu spoke openly about their performance problems after the match ended. He described it as a tough contest where both sides struggled to create quality chances. His players made a crucial mistake that led to an avoidable goal, which proved impossible to recover from during the remaining time.

The coach explained the major challenges his team faced during preparations. For almost four weeks leading up to the season, they lacked proper practice facilities, which severely hurt their readiness for competitive matches. Kaindu plans to use these first few games as extended training to help players reach peak fitness levels.

Despite the disappointing result, Kaindu remains hopeful about future matches. He sees plenty of areas where the team can make significant improvements as the season progresses. The coach expressed confidence that his players would bounce back stronger after this initial setback and show fans their true potential on the field.
