Holiday Exam Hell Hits TVET Students Under Minister's Orders

Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu wants students at technical schools to work hard during their final tests. He told students that the skills they learn will help Ghana grow stronger as a country. The minister believes these students can start their businesses after graduation. He thinks technical training gives young people better chances at success. Students at these schools learn practical skills that employers really need.

Iddrisu visited two schools in the Eastern Region on Monday to see how exams were going. He stopped at Koforidua Technical Institute and St. Paul's Technical Institute during his trip. The minister watched students take their final tests at both places. He wanted to see how well the schools were preparing students for careers. The visits helped him understand what technical education looks like on the ground.

The minister believes technical students will create jobs instead of just looking for work. He said their hands-on training makes them different from other graduates. These students know how to fix things and build things that Ghana needs. Their skills can help solve the country's problem with people not having jobs. Technical training teaches students to be independent and start their companies.

Zakaria Sulemana leads the Commission for TVET and made an important announcement about test schedules. He confirmed that Friday July 4 remains a regular exam day even though it's a public holiday. Students must still show up for their planned tests on that day. The holiday will not change any examination dates at technical schools. All scheduled exams will happen exactly as planned across the country.
