An Indian delegation led by Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary in the Ministry of Power, concluded its visit to Denmark on Wednesday after extensive discussions with key stakeholders in the energy sector. The team met representatives from the Danish Meteorological Institute, Orsted Balancing Responsible, Middelgrunden Offshore Windfarm, and other institutions to explore the role of thermal power in renewable energy systems.
The Embassy of India in Denmark, along with the Indo-Danish Chamber of Commerce and several Danish organizations, hosted an Indo-Danish Roundtable on Green Hydrogen and Maritime Collaboration. Ambassador Manish Prabhat emphasized the importance of long-term cooperation between the two nations in clean energy and green hydrogen.
Earlier in the week, Agarwal and Denmark’s Permanent Secretary for Climate, Energy and Utilities, Lars Frelle-Petersen, reviewed ongoing bilateral projects and discussed expanding collaboration. The 7th Joint Working Group Meeting on Power also took place, led by officials from the energy ministries of both countries.
Energy cooperation remains a key pillar of the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership, established in 2020. In May, both nations renewed their Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen their joint efforts in power system modeling, renewable energy integration, electric vehicle infrastructure, and cross-border electricity trading, thereby reinforcing their shared goals of achieving clean energy and net-zero emissions by 2070.
