Union Minister for Railways and Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Monday that India's electronics manufacturing sector experiences weekly growth through emerging suppliers and enhanced design capabilities driven by small and medium enterprises. The expansion will generate significant employment opportunities within years, and the minister highlighted advances in chip design technology through ARM's recent Bengaluru facility focused on 2 nanometer semiconductor development. The India Semiconductor Mission allocated 76,000 crore rupees to support the ecosystem, and authorities approved 10 projects valued at 1.6 lakh crore rupees across six states. The Design Linked Incentive Scheme enabled 23 chip design projects, and 72 companies utilize advanced design tools for semiconductor development.
