Intel Chief Quits for Kuka Robot Throne

Intel CCO Christoph Schell will leave on June 30 after two hard years with the company. He will leave for a better job as CEO at Kuka Group, a robotics leader that makes machines, cells, digital services, and software. Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan thanked him for building a strong sales team during tough times. His exit comes as Intel keeps losing money and cutting costs everywhere.

Schell came from Hewlett-Packard just before Intel started struggling more. Last quarter showed an $800 million loss against $12.7 billion in revenue. He stayed through leadership changes after joining under former CEO Pat Gelsinger, who quit last December. Greg Ernst from America sales will take over the sales group for a short time until they find someone permanent.
