Intel's Panther Lake Chip Could Flip the PC Market

Intel will release just one Panther Lake mobile chip this year before launching more models early next year. The company plans to offer a high-end version with four performance cores, eight efficiency cores, and four Xe3 graphics cores at 45 watts of power in late 2025. The rest of the lineup will arrive during the first quarter of 2026, when customers will see the full impact of these new processors.

The initial chip represents part of a critical launch for Intel as competitors like AMD push ahead with their Strix Point chips. These new processors will use Intel's advanced 18A manufacturing process, which matters greatly for the future of Intel Foundry. According to insider reports, the complete lineup will feature four different models, with the top version sporting twelve Xe3 graphics cores.

Intel needs this release to succeed as its computer chip business faces serious challenges. The company seems to be rushing one model out to meet market expectations after delay rumors appeared last quarter. The complete lineup will use Cougar Cove performance cores and Darkmont efficiency cores, with various models offering different power levels from 15 to 45 watts.
