Interliber 2025 sees record sales and attendance

Croatia's Interliber book fair attracted approximately 120,000 attendees across six days at the Zagreb Fair venue, with over 360 exhibitors from 15 nations participating in 200 hours of programming. Slavko Kozina from the Croatian Chamber of Commerce noted that publishers featuring quality new releases experienced sales increases reaching ten percent or higher, while those without fresh offerings matched previous performance levels.

Financial data reveal that major Croatian publishing houses maintained strong profitability despite surveys showing only 37 percent of residents read at least one book annually. Školska knjiga generated 41.3 million euros in revenue with 3.24 million euros profit, while Profil Klett recorded 16.05 million euros in sales and 1.69 million euros profit. The sector employs roughly 3,000 workers across publishing, retail, and creative roles, with book prices remaining stable against inflationary pressures.
