Jeshi Jinga's student thugs use women as bait in Mumias East

Authorities in Mumias East detained seven suspects linked to the criminal organization Jeshi Jinga following community intelligence reports. Local residents provided information about two group members who subsequently revealed five additional associates during police questioning. Officers discovered one suspect consuming cannabis at his residence during daylight hours, while another arrestee was identified as a recently suspended 17-year-old student facing disciplinary action. The gang employs a female accomplice who poses as a passenger to lure motorcycle taxi operators into ambush situations. Criminal associates then emerge from concealment to assault riders and steal their vehicles.

Police recovered multiple weapons from suspect residences, such as machetes, knives, sharpened metal rods, and dark clothing used during nighttime operations. OCPD Dorice Chemos confirmed investigations continue targeting the remaining group members and another cattle theft network. Authorities apprehended livestock thief Fredrick Keya at Eluwasambi after parental confirmation of his suspicious nocturnal activities. Officials warned against attending evening funeral gatherings that provide criminal opportunities for gang movement.
