Hassan Joho thinks every deserving Kenyan belongs in the larger government. The Mining and Blue Economy leader spoke about how important it feels for all people to see themselves represented. He made these comments during Muslim prayers at Tononoka Ground, right here in Mombasa. When President Ruto added more departments by hiring extra Principal Secretaries, many citizens worried about paying higher taxes just to cover salaries.
Joho claims Kenya suffered from exclusive politics for years until Ruto changed things completely. He explained our country used first-past-the-post politics where winners took everything, leaving others without any voice. Anyone who lost an election had zero chance to help their nation going forward. This new approach lets everybody participate regardless of the election results.
The expanded leadership aims to bring Kenyans together rather than divide them further. Joho urged everyone to protect our nation since we have just one Kenya for all citizens. He hopes people will stop seeing politics as a life-or-death competition and instead view it as shared governance. His message encourages cooperation among different groups across the country.
Joho also addressed young gang members directly, asking them to reconsider their choices before wasting their youth. He challenged them to reflect each night, asking whether their actions benefitted their earthly lives or heavenly futures. His concerns stem from growing danger in both Mombasa and Kwale counties, where young gangs cause serious problems without fear of consequences. These issues continue despite government efforts to maintain safety.
