The government picked Raymond Archer to lead the Economic and Organised Crime Office as Acting Executive Director. Mr. Archer comes from a career as an investigative journalist with lots of experience. Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah, who used to run EOCO, has moved to the National Security Secretariat as a Technical Advisor. EOCO remains important for Ghana because it fights against financial crimes and criminal groups. The fresh eyes of a journalist might bring new approaches to how the agency tackles these problems.
