Kagera RC forms task force to finish stalled hospital

Fatma Mwassa lost her patience seeing the Muleba District hospital project stalled at forty percent completion. The Regional Commissioner visited the site and immediately formed a task force to force contractors to work overnight to meet next month's deadline. She told District Commissioner Abel Nyamahanga that excuses stop here because people need services.

The administrator slammed the delays on the 1.7 billion shilling facility while pointing out that other councils managed to finish their builds. She noted the government already spent billions upgrading health infrastructure across the region. This includes a new ICU and expensive equipment at the main referral center.

Official data shows neonatal deaths plummeted to five percent thanks to better care units for premature infants. Mwassa highlighted that nearly three hundred fresh health workers arrived last year to boost the workforce. The referral hospital also secured a CT scan machine to handle serious cases locally.

Future plans involve constructing a specialized center to handle disease outbreaks since the area sits right next to risky border zones. The government intends to set up a central diagnostic hub to catch infections early before they spread through the population.
