Kajansi Robbery Drama as Riders Rush Thieves

Police are looking into an armed robbery that happened Thursday evening in Lweza Cell A, Wakiso District. Two men riding a red motorcycle attacked a parked car outside a salon, breaking windows with an AK-47 rifle before stealing two bags.

As they tried to escape, the robbers shot two people who confronted them - Tumwesigye Peter, 27, a boda boda rider, and Abdul Swabur, 18. Both victims received medical care, with Swabur transferred to Mulago Referral Hospital for treatment.

Deputy Police Spokesman Luke Owoyesigyire said community members, motorcycle riders, and officers teamed up to chase the suspects. Their efforts led to one suspect being neutralized during the pursuit. Police recovered several items, including the weapon, motorcycle, phones, and bags, from the scene.

Authorities praised residents for their quick action after the incident. The investigation continues as police search for additional information about the 6:20 PM attack that occurred near Ndejje Division in Makindye-Ssabagabo Municipality.
